About CEHive

Free continuing education for mental health professionals

What is CEHive?

CEHive is a free, searchable directory of continuing education (CE) courses for licensed mental health professionals. We help psychologists, licensed clinical social workers (LCSW), licensed professional counselors (LPC), marriage and family therapists (LMFT), psychiatric nurse practitioners, substance abuse counselors, school counselors, and school psychologists find free CE that satisfies their license renewal requirements.

Our platform aggregates free CE webinars, on-demand courses, podcasts, and training programs from accredited providers including SAMHSA, the VA, university extension programs, nonprofits, and professional associations (APA, NASW, NBCC, AAMFT, NAADAC). Every course in our database is free, either with no account required or with a free registration only.

You can filter courses by license type, state requirements, topic, CE format, and accrediting body to efficiently find what you need. We also maintain a searchable state requirements database so you can look up exactly what your state board requires before you start searching for courses.

Our Mission

Mental health clinicians play an essential role in their communities, and the cost of CE should not be a barrier to maintaining licensure. Renewing a license shouldn't require hours of searching scattered websites or spending hundreds of dollars on commercial CE packages.

CEHive was built to make free continuing education more accessible by bringing free CE courses, upcoming events, and state licensing requirements all into one place. Our goal is to ensure every clinician can complete their renewal CE without financial hardship.

We are particularly focused on helping clinicians in community mental health, school-based settings, and early-career positions where CE reimbursement is often unavailable. Free CE from government agencies, universities, and nonprofits exists in abundance, but it is scattered across many websites. CEHive centralizes it.

Our Editorial Standards

Every course listed on CEHive is reviewed before inclusion. Our standards require that a course be genuinely free (no payment required, though free account creation is permitted), offered by a provider with recognized accreditation (APA, ASWB/ACE, NBCC, NASW, AAMFT, NAADAC, or equivalent), and focused on topics relevant to mental health clinical practice.

Courses are periodically re-verified to check that links are active and courses remain available. If you find a broken link or a course that now requires payment, you can report it using the flag icon on any course card. We typically resolve link reports within a few business days.

Despite our best efforts, course availability and approval status can change without notice. Users are always responsible for verifying that a specific course meets their state board's requirements before relying on it for renewal credit.

CEHive Pro

For clinicians who hold multiple licenses or practice across state lines, CEHive Pro unlocks advanced tracking tools. While the core course directory and search are free for everyone, Pro subscribers can track multiple license types and states simultaneously — so an LPC licensed in both Pennsylvania and New York, or a dual-licensed LCSW and LMFT, can monitor renewal deadlines and CE progress for every credential in one dashboard.

Pro also includes the ability to upload and attach completion certificates, export an audit-ready PDF report, receive automated renewal reminder emails before your license or subscription expires, and use AI-powered gap analysis to spot missing CE categories before your deadline.

CEHive Pro is $7.99/month or $49/year. You can subscribe from the CE Tracker page and cancel anytime — your free course search and directory access remain regardless.

Smart Certificate Upload & CE Tracking

Keeping a paper folder of CE certificates — or worse, scrambling to find them when a board audit notice arrives — is a thing of the past. CEHive's CE Tracker lets you log every completed course in one organized dashboard, categorized by type (general, ethics, suicide prevention, cultural competency, and live CE) and tagged with the states each credit counts toward.

With Smart Upload, you don't even need to type anything. Simply drag in a PDF certificate of completion, and our AI automatically extracts the course title, provider, credit hours, and completion date for you. You can upload multiple certificates at once, review the extracted details, and save them in a single click — turning what used to be an hour of manual data entry into seconds.

When renewal time comes, your CE Tracker shows a running total of completed hours against your state's requirements, flags any gaps in required categories like ethics or suicide prevention, and lets you export a polished, audit-ready PDF report with every certificate attached. It's the compliance safety net that lets you focus on your practice, not your paperwork.

Created by Dr. K. Gepp

CEHive is a passion project built by Dr. K. Gepp, a licensed clinical psychologist with direct experience navigating the CE renewal process. After years of spending hours each cycle tracking down free, board-approved CE scattered across dozens of websites, Dr. Gepp built CEHive as the resource that should have existed all along.

CEHive is maintained as an independent project with no affiliation to any CE provider, licensing board, or professional association. Have a course suggestion, found a broken link, or just want to say hello? Send a message below.

Important: CEHive aggregates free CE courses from accredited providers. Users are responsible for verifying that courses meet the specific requirements of their licensing board in their state before claiming CE credit.
